Recently had a massage or curious about aftercare?

Here’s all the information you need.

After your massage, your body and mind are in a relaxed state. To help you get the most out of your treatment and enjoy lasting benefits, please take a moment to read and follow these aftercare guidelines:

Water

1. 

Massage improves blood circulation and lymphatic flow, which can support your body’s natural processes for removing metabolic waste and maintaining balance. Drinking water after a massage helps rehydrate the tissues and muscles, especially since massage can slightly increase fluid movement in the body. Staying hydrated supports overall wellness and helps prevent dehydration-related fatigue, allowing you to fully enjoy the relaxing benefits of your treatment.

Avoid consuming alcohol or smoking for at least 24 hours after your massage, if possible. Massage supports your body’s natural detoxification processes, and indulging in alcohol or smoking can counteract these benefits by introducing additional toxins into your system, making it harder for your body to recover and rebalance.

Avoid engaging in strenuous activity for at least 12 hours to allow your body to fully relax, recover, and enhance the de-stressing effects of your massage.

Opt for a light, balanced diet to support your body's natural healing and rejuvenation process.

Avoid direct exposure to intense sunlight and refrain from using sun beds after your treatment, especially if oils were applied.

You may notice increased urination or bowel movements after your massage. Temporary symptoms such as dizziness, nausea, heightened thirst, or mild flu-like effects (e.g., a runny nose or coughing) can also occur as your body rebalances and begins its natural healing process.

You may feel emotional. It’s quite natural to feel tearful.

Do not shower or bathe directly after a treatment for at least 6 – 8 hours. The essential oils used need to penetrate the skin in order to be absorbed into the system to achieve optimum results. Also avoid sauna & steam rooms.

9.

When sitting in front of a computer for longer than 20 minutes, stand up to stretch and gently warm up your joints. Fetch yourself a glass of water.

10.

Take care when driving as you will not be as alert after your treatment.
